TWO WAYS TO HELP WITH HURRICANE FLORENCE RELIEF

The Town of Sullivan's Island urges you to donate to the below two campaigns to help our neighbors to the north who were so impacted by Hurricane Florence:  the Fire Departments' supplies drive and the Lowcountry Mayors' Disaster Relief Fund.  Mayor Pat O'Neil asks that you lend your support to these two important efforts."

Fire Department Supplies Drive

Sullivan's Island & Isle of Palms Fire Departments are collecting supplies for victims of Hurricane Florence.
Donations accepted through Wednesday, October 3, 2018
at SI Fire Station (2056 Middle Street) or Isle of Palms Public Safety Building (JC Long Boulevard)

The Lowcountry Mayors' Disaster Relief Fund

Established to raise money exclusively for Hurricane Florence-related disaster assistance via Coastal Community Foundation's Disaster Relief Fund. Go online (http://bit.ly/2MN21YE) and specify name of fund in the comments sections.  You may designate the Mayor's Fund or other Coastal Community Foundation funds for direct assistance to storm victims, designating the geographic area to which you want your contributions to go.

Thank you for considering these and/or any other fundraising efforts that promise to direct your contributions to the folks hit by Hurricane Florence, and not for general operating or fundraising expenses.

Town of Sullivan's Island Coyote Management Plan (Town Policy- Click)

Please help the Town - Report all coyote sightings!
It is very important to report each and every coyote sighting using the following procedure:

Call Consolidated Dispatch:  (843) 743-7200 (available 24/7)
Provide the following data:
1. Date of sighting
2. Time of sighting
3. Location of sighting
4.  Quantity of Coyotes
5. Circumstances - Did you HEAR, SEE or INTERACT with the coyote(s)

Interact means having to actively scare away the coyote by activity such as staring it down, yelling/making noise, throwing something at the coyote, etc

The Town does not encourage you to physically engage a coyote.
If at any time you feel in danger, please call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance.

Reporting each and every sighting provides the Town necessary data to track coyote habitats and behavior patterns.  This information is critical to the Town's regular review of its coyote management strategies. Thank you for your assistance.
