3. Use clear plastic bags for leaves (black bags will not be picked up)

________

HOLDS HISTORIC PROPERTY TAX CREDIT WORKSHOP

Sullivan’s Island Town Council’s Historic Property Tax Credit Workshop on February 26, 2008 was a great success. A standing room crowd of over 60 people filled Town Hall to learn how they could get a tax break for preserving their historic homes.

Mr. Richard Sidebottom, Supervisor of Compliance, Tax Incentive and Outreach Programs with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) in Columbia provided a breadth of information at this two (2) hour workshop on the various state and federal tax initiatives available to residents engaging in rehabilitation and preservation efforts.

Mayor Carl Smith thanked residents for supporting the preservation of historic homes and the establishment of historic districts, a goal he has personally striven to realize for over twenty (20) years.

If residents missed this informative meeting, they can contact Mr. Sidebottom at Sidebottom@scdah.state.sc.us , visit the State Archives and History website at www.state.sc.us/scdah or contact Andy Benke, Town Administrator, at abenke@sullivansisland-sc.com  or (843) 883-5726.
